​Southwest Apartment Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Southwest is seeking a skilled and dependable Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, provide excellent customer service, and take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable community for our residents. This position requires experience in building maintenance systems, the ability to work independently, and participation in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately diagnose maintenance issues and implement cost-effective, long-term solutions.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on property systems, including electrical, HVAC, boilers, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and other related building components.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance and community upkeep as needed.
  • Coordinate and monitor the quality of work performed by outside contractors and vendors.
  • Participate in the required on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations.
  • Complete service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain productivity and engagement throughout scheduled work shifts.
  • Conduct daily inspections of community grounds, common areas, and building interiors; promptly address deficiencies to ensure a safe and attractive environment.
  • Inspect vacant units and assist in preparing apartments for new residents.
  • Complete all required company training programs, meetings, and certifications.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain company standards regarding uniforms, appearance, hygiene, and professionalism.
  • Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled shifts.
  • Provide advance notice when absences or schedule changes are necessary.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all forms of communication, including email, phone calls, video meetings, and text messaging.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or potential security issues.
